What Others Are Saying

The First Steps’ facilitator training was one of the most profound professional educational experiences of my life. Rob created a true learning community amongst the participants – we learned the concepts, we developed teamwork, and I reconnected with myself. I learned how to effectively guide group discussions towards real learning. Rob is a consummate Master Trainer, able to simplify the complex and make it accessible. That being said, this was not a beginner’s training, but one that stretched me. I give Rob and First Steps my highest recommendation.

Client Results - Employee Accountability

*Note: our work is customized to each client's needs and specifications. These results are meant to provide examples of how we work with our clients and what they then achieve. They are not meant to display a "set" approach, nor do they necessarily detail all of the results achieved by this client.

How does one hold employees accountable for achieving results? Resolving this issue has assisted numerous clients, including the two outlined below.

Case #1

We worked with one of nine dispatch centers for telephone repair and installation work and had the poorest performance of all the centers in terms of percentage of work orders completed on that day. We worked with their supervisors and showed them how to hold meaningful performance accountability conversations with their repair personnel.

Results: Within six months, our client went from worst dispatch center in the state to number 1.

Case #2

One of our clients needed to improve their safety record. We guided company leadership to modify the employees' performance systems to support safe behaviors, then trained their supervisors in how to hold accountability conversations with their employees whenever an at-risk behavior occurred.

Results: within three months, they had lowered their incident rate by 2/3.

Is individual performance an issue on your team? Do some employees resist taking accountability for meeting standard? Contact an FSTD associate to learn how we might assist.
