EFFECTIVE TEAM LEADERSHIP

INTRODUCTION

For any project to be successful, the right people must be committed to its implementation.  In many instances, employees need to participate in the decision making process in order to be committed.  Generally speaking, as participation increases, so does commitment; however, as participation increases, so does the investment of time.  In order for the project to be both successful and time efficient, the proper level of participation must be determined.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

The Effective Team Leadership Workshop looks at the various leadership behaviors which are commonly used - from autocratic, to participative, to group-oriented - and investigates criteria to assist leaders select the most appropriate behavior for a given situation. Participants learn the appropriateness of each behavior and guidelines that can help them quickly assess a situation and choose the (and there is usually only one) appropriate leadership behavior; they then apply the guidelines they have learned to actual on-job situations and conclude by developing Commitments to Action to continue to use the guidelines on the job.

This workshop presents a logical, step-by-step process that your managers can put to use right away to consider these factors and choose the right leadership behavior for the moment.
