What Others Are Saying

I worked with Rob for 18 months through the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Mid-South Delta Initiative to develop a 'Strategic Vision" for the Delta. Through that experience and relationship, I'm more than honored to say that Rob was the beacon for our success. Thought provoking, challenging, compassionate, articulate, strict attention to detail, engaging, humourous and a gifted leader are the qualities that Rob Benson posesses. Because of those qualities, we were successful in accomplishing our goal and I came away a better person.

Working with Style

Overview

Managers have incredible influence. Their strengths can empower and energize the people who work for them. And of course their limitations can trickle down to create frustration, confusion, or even paralysis for those they manage. The Working with Style Workshop gives managers a safe way to understand the strengths and challenges that they bring to the table. They gain a greater appreciation for the impact that their behavior has on others, and they discover how others may respond to their typical approaches. Leaders learn how to leverage their management strengths, enabling both them and their employees to be more effective.

Objectives

In the Working with Style workshop, participants will:

  • Learn the four different relational approaches
  • Discover their unique strengths and challenges as managers
  • Recognize how they relate when:
    • Communicating
    • Delegating
    • Directing people
    • Developing people
    • Decision-making
    • Managing time
    • Problem-solving
    • Motivating others
  • Identify different responses to their management strengths and understand how strengths can be overused
  • Create Commitments to Action based on their unique relational strengths and challenges to aid them in managing productively and effectively

BENEFITS TO THE ORGANIZATION

The skills developed in this workshop will enable managers to more effectively deal with their employees and develop and maintain an environment where employees feel understood and appreciated.
